Alright, most of you have seen the tv show "The Biggest Loser". At our local rec center, they are doing thier own version of this show. There are 7 people on two teams, and each team has a trainer. We workout 6 days a week and have a weekly meeting to learn about nutrition and weigh in. Last night was the end of our first week and I lost 3 pounds! My goal is 50 pounds. Now this is only a 12 week program, so I don't think I can lose that much in that amount of time, but I would like to take a big chuck out of that. I'll keep you posted on my success!

Trip to Provo
This weekend we went to Provo UT for kyle to participate in an olympic distance triathlon at Utah Lake. I didn't get very many pictures because I only dropped him off at the beginning and picked him up at the finish line. Jim came to see him finish and we were all very proud of him. He plans on doing a couple more sprint and olympic distance triathlons before the end of the year so he can decrease his time.
While we were there we stayed with our friends Doug and Sharon, who took us up to Bridal Veil Falls Saturday afternoon. I hadn't been there in 10 years and now they have a park and paved trail to it.
The boys (Kaleb, Cole and Spencer) climbed up as far as we would let them on the rocks below the falls. It was warm outside (95 degrees), so the water was cold and refreshing.
Doug and Sharon have 3 kids (Spencer 6, Erica 4, and Jackson 1) and they played very well with each other all weekend. We had so much fun with them and are so grateful they put us up for the weekend.
Landon got in the water, but just watched as the big boys climbed the falls. It was a fun weekend and we hope to see our friends soon.

Lets Go Fly A Kite!
Last night we went to the park for family home evening and flew kites together.
When we went to the park the wind died, so it took alittle bit to get the kites up in the air. Kaleb had the most success becuase it ran with it the longest.
Landon didn't get his very high, but he had fun trying.
Cole and Landon got theirs tangled, so it took awhile for them to get going again.
Three kites: superman, spiderman and thomas the train. What a fun night with the kids!

Kyle's 31st birthday!
Yesterday we celebrated Kyle's 31st birthday. Our family tradition is to let the birthday person pick what is for dinner that day and what kind of cake they want. Kyle picked chicken fajitas, corn and spanish rice for dinner and chocolate cake with chocolate icing for dessert.
Since it was Monday, dad picked to go play frisbee golf at the park as our activity.
Landon got tired of throwing the frisbee and walking to the next basket really quickly. The other boys enjoyed the game.
Kyle was getting really good by the end, although he did have to fetch the frisbee out of the tree once.
The boys made dad some birthday cards and we got him a car kit for satellite radio. I hope it will work well. It was a good night and we all had fun together. Happy Birthday Kyle!

Twilight
Well, I finally broke down and read Twilight by Stephanie Meyer. I kept hearing how wonderful it was from so many people, so I wanted to see what the fuss was all about. When they told me it was about vampires, I was hesitant. But I figured I really like Harry Potter and that was about magic, so I can't rule it out just for that. So I read it and . . . it was pretty good. I don't know if it was worth all the hype, but I enjoyed it. Maybe you have to read the others to really think it is great, so I will read the others since I already bought them. I want to love them, and I hope I do. I look forward to finishing the series and watching the movie. Please don't write me hate mail yet, let me finish the books first.

Painting the Guest Room
This week my big project was painting the guest room. It was white and now it is a khaki color. One of my new years resolutions this year was to finish painting all the bedrooms in the house. We rented for many years and always had white walls. I always said when I got my own house that we wouldn't have anymore white walls. Last year we painted the living areas, kitchen and dining room. This year I will paint the 4 bedrooms, craft room and playroom. Anyways, the guest room is ready for guests and much cosier with the new paint.

Family Home Evening
Last night for family home evening we planted our garden. The weather has been so strange this year that we couldn't plant earlier because we still were freezing at night until last week.
Last year we planted one box in our backyard, just to try it out for the first time. This year we tripled it to three boxes.
The boys love planting the seeds. We planted broccoli, cantalope, basil, cucumbers and two types of tomatoes.
For dessert we had homemade snow cones on the back porch.
It was a great evening together as a family. Hopefully our garden will grow quickly and we will have a great harvest.

Jet Skiing on the Lake
Kyle has a friend in town that works on cars and other things, and he fixed these old jet skis. Kyle would like his dad to buy them, but we wanted to find out if they work first.
So we went out to the lake just north of town and took them for a spin.
All the boys took a ride around the lake with dad. The skis are alittle beat up because they are very used, but one rides really well and the other kept dying, so it still needs some work.
Hopefully he can get them working, because it was nice being out on the lake and playing on the shore.
We had a great day at the lake and the boys had a blast! What a way to start the summer!
