Summer has started!

Summer has started and we just went to the city outdoor pool for the first time this season.
The boys love the pool because they are practicing their swimming and they love the big slide.

Landon enjoys the big slide too, but only if dad takes him. I like to sit by the pool and work on my tan (so I don't blind people with my white legs). We got a family pass to the pool, so I am sure we will be spending alot of time there this summer.

Slip and Slide

Mindi and I took our kids over to the Eyers house in Waco to give Becky some peace and quiet at the house for a couple of hours. They got a huge blow up slide and Heather was there with her 2 kids.
Landon spent most of his time riding bikes in the driveway, and therefore he was the only one that got a sunburn.
They also set up the swing set slide to go into the baby pool. Between the two slides, there was enough fun for everyone.

All the kids had a great time and it helped cool off the hot Texas day.

Visit to Texas

While in Texas, things weren't all sad. We did get to see friends and family there that we don't see very often. While in Temple at the hospital, we took the kids to a park down the street to burn off some energy. My boys played with Mindi's girls Cailyn & Jessica. Here Cole is playing on the playground.
Baby Jessica is so cute and she just loves the swing. I love those cute belly laughs.
Kyle, Cory and Jim played basketball to relieve the stress of the situation. Here Jim catches some air in the driveway of the Gropp house.
We pulled out the baby pool in the front yard on a hot afternoon. Here Jessica and Cailyn play together.
While Becky was on her way home from the hospital, Candace helped the kids make a Welcome Home banner for her. It was really cute and she loved it.
Although it wasn't very good circumstances to be there under, it was nice to see cousins and friends we only see once or twice a year.

Becky update

We spent the last week in Waco, Texas with Kyle's mom and we just got back last night. She decided not to do another surgery because the risks far outweighed the benefits. She got home from the hospital on Sunday and had lots of visitors the past few days. Hospice has come in to help make her comfortable and will be taking care of her along with the family. We don't know how much longer she will be with us, so we are cherishing every moment we have together. Thank you for your prayers and I will try to keep you updated if anything new happens.

Quick Trip to Texas

We left Thursday night for a quick trip to Texas to see Kyle's mom in the hospital. As most of you know, she has brain cancer and has been successfully fighting it off for about 3 1/2 years now. She has had 2 brain surgeries and lots of chemotherapy. She is back in the hospital now and may have another surgery on Monday. We plan on being here in Waco until Tuesday, but that is still up in the air. We will keep you posted. Please keep her in your prayers.

Potty Training

We are officially potty training Landon now. He will be 3 in July and he has to be potty trained by August when he starts pre-school. He is my last one in diapers and I can't wait to be diaper free! Hopefully it will go smoothly since he has two big brothers for an example. He is so excited to wear pull-ups that he walks around saying "I'm a big kid now!"

Happy Birthday To Me!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME! I'm 31 today. When you get older birthdays aren't as fun, but you just are thankful that you're still around to have one. This year for my birthday and mother's day we are getting a new laptop computer. We bought a Gateway on Saturday, but already took it back because it wasn't what we needed. So now we are ordering a Dell laptop online, so I won't be able to play with it for a little while. Our desktop is almost 7 years old, so it was time for something new. I want to start digital scrapbooking and hopefully this will work well. We also got our "tax rebate" in our bank account today. That was a nice present. It should cover the cost of the computer and software. Anyways, I am one year older ( I don't know about wiser).

Runners in Training

Yesterday, Kyle ran the first leg (5 miles) in the Shiprock Marathon relay. At the event they had a kids 1K run, and the kids decided they wanted to do it.
I didn't know they had that or I would have had the camera ready at the event. Anyways, Kaleb and Cole got to wear a racing number and they got a medal when they were done.
I don't know if they will want to do running or triathlons when they are older, but they had fun doing this and they were pretty fast for their age.
