Carving Pumpkins

We carved our pumpkins from the pumpkin patch last night. These aren't my best pictures, since I had to use the flash on some of them. But we still had fun.

Pumpkin Guts!

Kyle's (and mine) pumpkin. Thanks to Kyle for carving it.

Silly boys with their final pumpkins.

Pumpkins lit in the dark.

I think this is the kid's favorite halloween tradition (besides the candy).

Scary and Cute Halloween Photos

This Halloween I decided to do something alittle unusual with our Halloween pictures.
We went out to a little cemetery outside of town to do a Halloween photo shoot with the kids.

They all really hammed it up and got into character.

This was a nice little country cemetery that was very quiet and peaceful.

I was hoping to find a place where we would't offend or bother any mourners. No one else was there, so it worked out great.

Here are the three together: vampire, sheriff and ninja.

Vampire bites Sheriff.

Cole was a ninja.

Sheriff Landon really enjoyed playing with his new guns.

I really love this one!

Kaleb was the best at getting into character.

He had the best ideas for poses. In fact, he came up with all of these by himself.

I will have the normal "trick or treating" photos next week, but we had a great time with this photo shoot. It is great when a plan comes together.

Last Camping Trip of the Year

We decided to go on one more camping trip this weekend before it got too cold.
We just went for one night up to Transfer Campground in Mancos, CO.

It was starting to get dark when we got there, so we set up the tent, started the fire and got dinner going.

We sat around the fire with our hot dogs and s'mores. The boys decided to tell "scary" stories and try to freak each other out.

It was a cold night, but we made it through okay with lots of sleeping bags and blankets.

In the morning, we got up and made another fire. Then dad made breakfast: pancakes and bacon.

The boys also enjoyed some hot cocoa to warm them up as well.

We packed up and left before lunch. It was a short but fun camping trip. Until next year. . .

Pumpkin Patch 2012

We went for our annual pumpkin patch visit yesterday to pick some pumpkins for carving. It rained that day and was cold, but it was the only evening we had available to go.

I just love this pumpkin patch. Usually there is a blue sky and you can see the mountains in the background, but this time is was cold and cloudy.

Cory and Colin were visiting from Texas, so they went with us.

Colin is so adorable. He was a trooper in the cold.

Our family. One of my rare appearances in front of the camera.

I love fall and I love this pumpkin patch. We have been going here for 7 years now. I have always thought this place was beautiful, and now it is just down the road from our new house.
