Play @ the Park

Yesterday we took our first trip to the park for the new year! It was mostly sunny and 55 degrees and gorgeous! We saw some friends there that had the same idea that we had and they boys enjoyed to sunshine. As you can tell, there was still lots of snow on the ground, but the play area was mostly clear. I am so ready for spring!!

Sidewalk Chalk

Landon and his friend Thayer Plewe took advantage of the beautiful afternoon we had on Tuesday to make some chalk art in our driveway.
It was so nice out, they didn't even need their coats or boots, but I guess it was just habit to have them on. It was 50 degrees for the high that day. Wonderful!

We are definately ready for spring here! But don't worry Lynnae (her family is coming to visit us for spring break), it is supposed to snow again this weekend.

Fresh Haircuts

This pictures was from last week, but I just remembered to add it. The boys had just gotten haircuts from dad and were looking so handsome I had to take a picture. What beautiful boys, but I'm not biased or anything!

Presents Galore!

The best part of the party for Cole was opening his presents. He got lots of great stuff: a light up light saber, a Spider-man car, Star Wars action figures, markers, card games, a calendar, hot wheels, a sidewalk paint sprayer, and more. Everyone was very generous, and he is grateful for wonderful friends to share his birthday with. Happy Birthday Cole!

#5 Birthday Party!

We had a birthday party for Cole at our house with his friends from school and church. We had about 12 kids there ages 3-7 and their parent. The theme was Star Wars, so we had a Darth Vader cupcake cake and party favors.
To entertain the kids, we moved out the furniture from the family room and set up the Geo Trax train with 5 trains and remotes for them to play with. When they got bored with that, they could go down to the playroom and play with the other toys.
We had pizza for dinner, so the kids ate really fast and then went back downstairs to play.
When it was time for cake, we tore apart the cupcakes and dug in.
The blue frosting was a hit, and Landon enjoyed making a big mess with it.

Happy Birthday Cole!

Cole celebrated his 5th Birthday on Tuesday, Feb 5, 2008. He took cupcakes to his school and his teacher made this crown for him to wear at school. He is so excited for his birthday party this friday!

Another Snow Day!

It snowed all day yesterday, and all morning today. The kids are out of school today for another snow day, but Kyle still has to go to work. He is digging out his car so that he can go, although he is already an hour late. It doesn't help when a snow plow comes by and throws more snow in his path.
Here is the backyard, beautifully white with about 6 more inches of snow from yesterday's video. Somehow I will have to plow my way through to get some firewood out of the pile by the back fence for our wood stove. Fun!

Landon's car that he loves to drive is frozen in snow up to the top of the door. It probably won't be useable until spring.
Luckily, the forcast for the rest of the week looks promising. Sunny or partly sunny the rest of the week with highs in the 30s and 40s. Sounds like heaven to me!!!

Snow, snow go away, come again another day!

I took some video of our yard (first back then front) to show how much snow we got this winter. We will probably get a foot of snow by the end of the day. It started this morning and just hasn't stopped. As I said in November, we love snow in November but are ready for spring by February. I am getting to that point already. It is beautiful, but really a pain in everyday life.
