Back to School 2012

School started back today! The boys are going back to Pleasant View Elementary in the 5th, 4th and 2nd Grade.

Last Friday we went out to the school and took pictures so I could get most of them done before today.

Cole (4th grade)

Kaleb (5th grade)

 Landon (2nd grade)

Here they are this morning, up early and ready to go!

As for me, I have a long to do list at home.

Yard Work

Cole got to help out in the yard today. He got to cover up the holes in the dirt that were made to install the piped irrigation on our land.

He was so excited that he got to run the Bobcat and his brothers were very jealous.

Are You Ready for Some Football?

The boys played their first game of football yesterday. They are both on the 5th grade team (thank goodness) and are still just learning the game.

Cole is #8 and is alternating between about 4 different positions.

Kaleb is #40 and is playing defensive end.

Here is Cole guarding someone.

Can I say I just love their colors?!

Kaleb was going up against guys much bigger than him and holding his own.

Here is Cole on the line. He is the one in the middle with the muddy knee.

Kaleb got tackled by the big guys.

He is the maroon guy on the ground. Luckily neither of our boys got hurt in this game. So although we lost, we learned alot and lived to play next week.

Trout Lake

On our way home from the hike in Telluride, we were stopped by construction by Trout Lake.

The cars in my rearview mirror.
The traffic stop gave me the chance to take some pictures of the beautiful Trout Lake.

We have driven by this little lake in the mountains so many times before, but we never stop. This construction allowed me a chance to get some pictures of this beautiful place. A blessing in disquise.

Cub Scout Hike in Telluride

We went on a three mile hike with our cub scout Webelos group on Friday.
It is a pretty strenuous hike, but the boys had a great time.

The waterfall is so pretty and we hiked to the bottom of the falls.

Landon got hurt on the way back, but Cole cleaned his cut knee up and helped him on his way. It was so sweet.

Cole playing in the tunnel.

The Webelos group at the waterfall. They did such a great job on the hike.

Landon playing on the rocks at the bottom of the waterfall.
The bottom of the waterfall. Since it is August and we haven't had too much precipitation, the waterfall wasn't too big, but still fun and refreshing.

The view of Telluride from the mountain is pretty awesome.
We all made it back to the car without major injury, so it was a great day! Good job boys!

Taking a Dip in the River

After the bike trip, everyone jumped in the Dolores River to cool off. I took some pictures of my boys in the river after everyone else left.

We love playing in the river. One of the joys of summertime.

BSA 50 Mile Bike Ride

As I said in the last post, we helped the BSA group with their 50 mile bike ride this week. The group rode from lizard head pass to Dolores, CO.
Although the trip was mostly down hill, there were a few tough climbs and several twisty roads.

I drove one of the support vehicles to protect the riders and offer help when needed.

We made several stops along the way to make sure everyone was staying together.

We stopped for lunch at bear creek trailhead and rested for awhile.

Then they were ready to get back on the road.

Kyle really enjoyed the ride and showed the boy scouts his biking skills.

It was a beautiful, scenic ride and all the boys made it without major injury.
That means it was a successful ride!
