Geyser Springs Hike

On Monday, we went up to Dunton to the cabin. Just down the road, there is a great hike up to Geyser Springs. It is the only natural Geyser in Colorado. It is a beautiful place.

The bridge we took to start the trail because the river was too high to cross on the rocks.

I chased this butterfly around on the trail to get his picture.

I didn't make it to the top (where the geyser was), so I stayed behind while they finished the hike. I took lots of pictures while I waited, including this little caterpillar.

Cole and the river.

This is where we usually cross the river, but it is too high from spring run off right now.

Everything was so green and pretty here.

The path through the trees.

Kyle is ready to hike.

My three cowboys getting ready for the hike.

A stream that crossed the trail up to the geyser.

We live in such a beautiful part of the country. It is so fun to get out and enjoy it on a nice day.

Dunton Cabin

In June, Kyle's family is having a family reunion up in a cabin in Dunton, CO owned by a family friend.  We went up on Monday to see where it is. It is about an hour drive from our house and is really in a beautiful place. Everything is so green there right now and very peaceful.

Fire pit and camping area.

Here is the cabin.

The river by the cabin.

Another view of the river.
I haven't been in the cabin yet, but I know we will have a blast there. So excited!

Goofing Around

I took the camera out for a spin with the kids in the backyard Sunday night. I really wanted to try backlighting (with the sun to the subject's back) around sunset, but we didn't wait long enough.
Anyways, we just played around alittle and I got a few of the kids (and cat).

Cole with our one-eyed cat Sam.

Here is alittle backlighting, but just barely through the trees.

The other boys jumped in and it got alittle crazy!

Kaleb allows me to take his picture.
Landon's blue eyes. I did nothing to them, they are just that blue!

School Field Trip

The boys went on an in town field trip yesterday. They went to the jail, newspaper office, park and Burger King. I just went to the newspaper office and park with them, but got some great pictures anyways.

They print several different newspapers in this building.

Stacks and stacks of printing paper.

Big machines.

They ate lunch at the park and played there for a couple of hours.

Geese and their goslings in the pond. So cute.

Landon eating lunch.

Crazy mohawk duck begging for food.

It was a great day for everyone! School is almost out! Wednesday is the last day!

Track and Field Day 2012

Every year the area schools get together for a 4th and 5th grade track meet.
Kaleb participated this year and had a great time.

Sand in shoes

There were lots of students at the meet and the weather was beautiful.
He participated in long jump, 6 man relay and 75 yrd dash.
So fun!

Animas River Durango CO

We spent the day last Saturday in Durango, playing by the water. The Animas River is still running swiftly and is pretty cold, so we just sat on the rocks and watched the rafts and kayaks go by. We also had a nice picnic by the water.

What a great way to spend a day!

Spring Baseball

Baseball season is in full swing here and we are busy almost every night with practices and games.
Kaleb and Cole are in the minor (kid pitch) league Rockies and Landon is in the macros (machine pitch) league Dodgers. They are all having a great time and learning lots on their new teams.
