Basketball Season Starts

The boys had their first basketball games of the season this Saturday.

Kaleb is in the 5th and 6th grade league. They won their game with a high score.

Cole is in the 3rd and 4th grade league. They tied their game 12-12 with Cole making 4 points. It helps to be the tallest player on the team.
They will have games each Saturday for the next month or so and practice twice during the week. They both enjoy the sport. For me it is the hardest sport to photograph because it is indoors, bad light and there is usually a orange color cast on everything because of the wood floor. So these aren't the greatest pictures, but they were the best I could do. I prefer the outdoor sports for pictures.

We Got A Dog!

Her name is Trixie and we got her from Cory that still has her sister as his pet.

We are told she is a Lab/Australian Shephard mix and should get pretty big.

She is an outside dog that will sleep in this igloo on the front porch. We are hoping her presence will keep the deer from eating everything in the yard. The cats aren't crazy about her, but I'm sure they will get used to her eventually. The boys are super excited about having a dog because they have been wanting one for so long.

New Year in pictures

This year I have started another project 365 (a picture a day), but this time I am working on my black and white conversions. Here are a few from the last 14 days.

Cole washing dishes.

Sam and Duffy drinking from the cactus plant.

Kaleb listening to his iPod.

Duffy wanting to come in the house.

Landon lost his first tooth.

Landon playing Settlers of Cattan.

At the end of the year I should have 365 black and white pictures of random things throughout the year. I can't wait.

New Years Eve 2012

We spent New Year's Eve with Cory and his family @ the Derrick's house. We played games while the kids played cards and watched movies.

Collin was licking the ear phones so they would stay in his ear. Too cute.

Emma wasn't feeling well, but she still played cards with the boys.

Landon trying to stay awake until midnight.
At midnight we popped open the bubbly.

All the kids (except baby Gracie) stayed up til midnight. It was a fun night full with games, food, movies and family.  Happy New Year!
