Another Snow Day!

It snowed all day yesterday, and all morning today. The kids are out of school today for another snow day, but Kyle still has to go to work. He is digging out his car so that he can go, although he is already an hour late. It doesn't help when a snow plow comes by and throws more snow in his path.
Here is the backyard, beautifully white with about 6 more inches of snow from yesterday's video. Somehow I will have to plow my way through to get some firewood out of the pile by the back fence for our wood stove. Fun!

Landon's car that he loves to drive is frozen in snow up to the top of the door. It probably won't be useable until spring.
Luckily, the forcast for the rest of the week looks promising. Sunny or partly sunny the rest of the week with highs in the 30s and 40s. Sounds like heaven to me!!!

Snow, snow go away, come again another day!

I took some video of our yard (first back then front) to show how much snow we got this winter. We will probably get a foot of snow by the end of the day. It started this morning and just hasn't stopped. As I said in November, we love snow in November but are ready for spring by February. I am getting to that point already. It is beautiful, but really a pain in everyday life.

Snow Day

We had a snow day yesterday from school, so we spent time at the rec center indoor pool with some friends we hadn't seen in awhile. The boys love going to the rec center, especially now that the 2 older boys are able to go on the big slide. Landon is really old enough to enjoy the kid play area too. Kaleb and Cole learned how to swim last summer at the outdoor pool, with dad as their teacher. After swimming, we went out to eat with our friend Rene and her boys Neil and Cody. It was a great morning and the boys were totally worn out from climbing up to the slide over and over again.
Today it is back to school, even though we are getting more snow in town today than we did yesterday. Go figure!

President Hinckley Died Yesterday

As you all know, President Hinckley died yesterday at the age of 97. Although that is a long time to live, I was still suprised at the news. He is really the only Church president I feel like I have gotten to know. I was baptized at the age of 16 in 1993. Ezra Taft Benson was prophet for a short time and then Howard W Hunter for a short time too. I attended two conferences in Texas where I was in the same room with President Hinckley and in the Lubbock temple dedication with him also. He was just an amazing person with an amazing spirit. Although I am sad at his passing, I am glad that he will be able to be with his wife Marjorie again who died almost 4 years ago. I look forward to the announcement of the new president soon.

Cousins Visit!

Mindi and Jason Holloway (Kyle's sister's family) and their 2 girls came to visit us last week. They came through on their way to Utah's Bear Lake for vacation. The boys really enjoyed spending time with these cousins. Cailyn is their oldest and she is so adorable. This is Cailyn in her church dress that she loves. But wait a minute, she isn't Cailyn. She insisted on everyone calling her Princess Genevieve (from some Barbie princess show). The boys had no idea what she was talking about, but they played along and Landon became her prince. Aren't kids great?!
Kyle's dad sent us a "Build-A-Snowman Kit" in the mail and the boys wanted to try it out. They recruited Uncle Jason to help them build 2 snowmen in the backyard. That was a week ago and the snowmen are still standing. Thanks Uncle Jason!

We love to have company visit, so whenever you are in the area give us a call and we would love to see you!

Happy New Year!

We rang in the new year with some friends from church. We went to the Black's house to celebrate with the Plewe's and Olsen's. There was lots of food and plenty of friends. I think there were 8 adults and 16 kids. It was great!
The Black's got a new foozball table for Christmas that the kids really enjoyed. Luckily all of my boys took a nap earlier in the day so they actually made it until midnight.
We all pigged out on pizza, sweets, treats and soda. What's a holiday without alot of junk food?
When the time finally came the kids all got noise makers and it was pandemoneum. I think my ears are still ringing. We had a great time with friends and the kids all sacked out as soon as we got back on the road to go home. Happy New Year to everyone!
