Garden harvest

Fall is in full swing here in Colorado. We had a freeze warning a couple of weeks ago, so we thought we should harvest what we could from the garden.

Basil.

Pumpkins and squash.  (we would have lots more pumpkins, but the dog got ahold of a few).

Tomatoes were the last to harvest. In fact, there were still two plants left to cover outside when this picture was taken. I have made lots of salsa, spaghetti sauce and green salsa with all of these tomatoes.

Next year we will be building raised beds for the garden. That will help us better control the soil, water, etc. Harvest time makes all the work all summer worthwhile.
